Teeth Whitening

Did you know 90 percent of people say the first thing they notice about someone is their smile? Family Med Spa uses a fast, scientifically developed teeth whitening system. This powerful treatment takes as little as 30 minutes. Our teeth whitening process will lighten teeth and help remove stains. Improve your appearance by visiting our office today.

First Impressions – You know what they say, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” Your smile is the first thing people notice about you.

Remove Stains – Foods, coffee, tea, wine, and smoking will stain your teeth over time. Brushing alone will not keep your teeth bright.

Safety – In-office teeth whitening has advanced to become one of the safest cosmetic procedures available.

Affordable – In the past, professional in-office teeth whitening required an expensive dentist visit. Innovations make it available to spas, saving you money.

Bright White Smile – Family Med Spa’s process, over time, will bring out the natural whiteness in your smile.

How It Works

Family Med Spa’s teeth whitening is fast and convenient. Our whitening agent is applied to your teeth and is activated with a special light. In 30-60 minutes, you can start to see the results. However, for the most dramatic smile and whitest teeth, multiple sessions are usually needed, at least initially. Regular maintenance sessions will keep your teeth bright.

How Long Will It Last?

Of course, teeth whitening is not forever. Food and drinks will create new stains and you will need touch-ups. How long the whitening lasts depends on the kinds of foods and drinks you are eating. If you avoid things like cola, coffee, tea, wine, and smoking, the results can last for a year or more. But it is possible to see the whitening fade in as little as a month. Additional touch-up treatments are needed to keep your smile bright.

Why Not Use Over-the-counter?

While home teeth whitening kits are less expensive, they are also less effective and have higher risks. Over-the-counter teeth whitening kits have much lower strength agents than in-office professional treatments. They also have “one-size-fits-all” trays that do not always fit your mouth. This can cause the unnecessary inflammation and irritation of your gums from the whitening agent. At Family Med Spa, the whitening agent is applied directly to your teeth.

Should You Whiten?

We do not recommend teeth whitening for everyone. While it is considered effective at any age, children under 16 years old should not receive this treatment. Pregnant and lactating women should also avoid whitening. We discourage those with gingivitis or worn enamel from having the procedure. We will also ask you about your allergies and if you have sensitive teeth to evaluate your situation.

Teeth whitening will only whiten teeth. Fillings, crowns, implants, and other restorations are not affected by the teeth whitening agent. If you are planning any restorations, it is best to have teeth whitening before hand. These things are colored to match your teeth at the time. Whitening after the fact can create an uneven look.
